Advice on latency.

Have been optimising my windows 7 alot recently, i always do it when i reformat as it runs alot more efficient.

Something i never did though was get my latency down. I had an issue were my latency was spiking to 1700, so i uninstalled my network driver and that brought my ping down alot, it spikes as high as 160 roughly.

Is that fine for gaming or should i expect alot less? I have done the ping fix and other various tweaks to my nextwork and that seems to be the lowest i can get it.

Do we even know what type of connection this is, wired or wireless?

I'm assuming wireless because of the latency problems.

For wired you might try going into the settings for the adaptor and turn off flow control if you have that option.

Other than that just using the latest Windows 7 certified drivers should be working for you

RAM Latency
I'm stumped as to why there is such a big difference between Maxxmem and Aida64 when reporting RAM Latency time. As you can see, the other results are similar but the latency is a lot different. I'm hoping others can run comparisons and post results and hopefully we can work out why there...

PCI Latency, how?
Hello folks, I use Flight Simulator X and I'm experiencing awful sound pops at the loop of the sound, and I've figured out why I believe. PCI latency is too high so the card isn't being released fast enough to be used again. Great. Problem is, I can't find out how to lower the latency. I've...
