    Atheros ar9285 connectivity issues

    Hi,

I just resonantly I bough a brand new Desktop that came with a Atheros ar9285 internet USB chip and I'm unable to connect to my Hitron Technologies Modem (model CGN2-ROG). I've tried almost everything already to connect to my modem but its all failed. Any suggestions to fix this problem? I'm not good with hard computer lingo, so keep it simple please! I need help ASAP

    Thanks,
    Nick:)

Have you tried to see if there's any updates for the driver?

Yes, I've tried one driver but it has been unable to work, do you know what verison of drivers would be compatible with my modem?

    Thanks for answering,
    Nick

there is a list of drivers here (note this is for wireless), dated 11/08/12 and is in the ARxxx section second from the bottom (thanks dwarf!)

    http://www.station-drivers.com/page/atheros.htm

not sure about the compatability with your modem, i would have thought it would work regardless of an updated driver

From what I've read about the Hitron Technologies Modem, the reliability and compatibility is not so good.

If your ISP has other options for a modem/router you might want to consider trying another one.

Was this a prebuilt computer that you bought? If so what is the model number and brand?

A site for all Atheros drivers.

I found this site with a lot of searching. When you get to the page make a choice under "BROWSE TECHNOLOGY" on the right-hand side. A list of drivers will appear.

    I hope this helps someone.
