Windows 7: Write Access error

I'm trying to install a program in one of the work station in my small business network and it gave me the error message that said "Unable to create directory "Z:\program name\data", please check write access"
I need this program to be run in the work station, but the collected data from it need to be saved in the server, so that is why this installation program tries to create the directory to server, however, it can't for some reason. Please help me out on this problem.

Wouldn't you set the SAVE FILES TO path after you actually installing the program? Never heard of any program that the SAVE FILES TO path is set at time of install.
And yes the Trusted Installer account may not have the correct permissions to access shared drives on a LAN server no matter what account you are logged into when installing any program.

Try just letting the program install system set the SAVE TO path to whatever it wants and then once it is installed run the program and change that setting.

It would also help to know what program you are trying to install.

Well, I can't even continue to install the program. After the error message, the installation wouldn't go on. This is the digital imaging software called Dexis.

You may need to contact Dexis support.
I looked through the sys requirement for there software and only the DEXIS 9 software says anything about a Server, or so it seems. And then it says it is Recommended, Not Required.

But I find the install software needing access to a server share for the software to be installed a little odd. Even in their spec sheet it says that a server is "recommended", Not Needed, for installations having more then 5 Imaging Workstations.

So it is really odd the installer would want access to a server network share.

I kind of solved the problems today in a way that I would never think it is. I installed this program in the computer(at that time, it was installed without a problem) and I upgraded windows XP to 7. In that process, all the old programs and files were saved in a folder under the new windows 7. The program installed in the XP kind of counter affected the installing process of the program in windows 7. So, I just deleted the program from the folder and I was able to install the program.
