Unable to detect specific wireless network following Windows 7 install

I have just installed Windows 7 onto my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. My laptop now detects a number of wireless networks in the vicinity but not my own. It is not a problem with my router because other laptops can pick up the connection no problem. I have Googled this problem and see a lot on issues with Windows 7 and picking up wireless signals. But I haven't seen any threads which deal specifically with the situation where only one wireless network cannot be detected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - please bear in mind I'm not particularly tech savy!

    Thanks.

Do you have SSID Broardcast turned on in the router?

You should also power cycle the router, if necessary reset it.

    Hi,

I have a user with this same issue - he's got a brand new Dell laptop that is able to detect all nearby wireless networks except one. And of course this is the one he needs to access. Other users are able to connect to this network so it is clearly broadcasting (plus I've confirmed this on the WAP control panel). I've tried updating the drivers, rebooting, running Windows and Dell updates, and adding the network manually (at which time it appears under Manage Wireless Networks but he still can't connect to it). Does anyone have a fix for this?
