Hi All
I have a desktop and laptop with windows 7, I want to use RDC from either side using the internet connection. Both machines are connected with same router for internet connection.
For internet, desktop is connected through LAN cable and laptop through WiFi.
Can I use RDC between them without wired connection and using router/internet??

If they are on the same LAN then all you have to do is enable the remote connection in the Advanced system settings under the Remote Tab and then open RDC and type in the computer name or IP address of the computer you want to connect to/ If you are doing this over the internet then there are several website that explain how to set up the router to forward the connection to a specific PC behind it.
Make sure if you have multiple users that you want to be able to connect to you need to add them using the Select Users.... Icon.
If you are doing this over the Internet.
Then you will only be allowed to use 3389 for one of the PC's. The other PC you will have to redirect the port in your router settings if available, or change your registry to a different port number under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
Then also modify you're windows firewall with the same port number.

Over the internet you will preferably require a static IP which you can speak with your ISP about (if you qualify) - though locally you should be fine with the two responses above.
Assuming you're an Advanced/Power user of modern computers, I would suggest taking parman's response and making sure you are portforwarding 3389 externally.
