I have 2 laptops, both with an administrator account and no other users. I'm attempting to set up a homegroup, but without much luck. One computer and my printer were in one network and the other computer, the wireless keyboard and mouse were in the other and they didn't know the others existed. I found that computer number 2 was somehow using the signal thing (I'm beyond going to see what it's called at this point!) as it's so-called internet connection. I disabled it and solved that part of the problem, but I still had 2 homegroups. After working at it for a couple of hours, suddenly computer 2 showed computer 1, directv streaming media player and the router in it's list of devices. It also showed the printer, but for some reason it was as a computer called kodak. I tried to access computer 1 from computer 2, but kept meeting up with a request for a password. I gave the computer 2 password, computer 1 password, homegroup passwords that had been generated during all of this, etc. I never was able to access it. I walked away, but found that computer 1 asked for a password for sharing. I changed that setting and went back to get on from the other computer and see if this corrected the problem. Lo and behold, every device but computer 2 was gone from the computer's device list! I don't know how it got there in the first place, so I certainly don't know how to get it back. In the network and sharing center on both computers, both computers will offer to create a homegroup, but never to join an existing group. Any ideas? I'm at the end of my rope! How do I get these machines to play nice with each other? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
