How do I turn off network discovery?

    Hi,

How do I turn off Network discovery? I turn it off on my laptop (call it LaptopA) but on when, on another laptop (call it LaptobB), I click on view other devices, LaptopA is visible.

Is there any way to make LaptopA invisible?

    Oh, I have Windows 7 Home Premium...I think it's 64 bit.

Please refer to this tutorial to do that:

Yeah, I did all that, and LaptopA still appears when you click view devices.

Try changing the workgroup of one of the laptops.

I see, so I create and join a new workgroup, and then LaptopA will be invisible to the other computers? (Who are still in the default?)

EDIT: I tried that and it didn't work.

All computers will always be visible to all other computers. That is just the way it is. Nothing you can do about it if they are all on the same LAN.

Not sure why you are looking to do this. If setup properly even though they are visible they can't be connected to unless you know the username and password.
