I can connect to network but not the internet

I have had this problem sporadically for the last month or so (since moving to this apartment). I am on the network but it says I have no internet acces. Other people on this network seem to connect fine (although they have had issues to) but I cant. I have 3 devices, all of which cant connect. On top of this, when i restart the computer or disconnect and reconnect adapter, I get internet access for about 20 seconds, enough time to load a google search or one webpage. however inevitably it always returns to the no internet access status. I have tried numerous fixs including reseting winsocks, using a new adapter, clearing browser history, changeing to static ip and changing back to automatically obtained one. Im out of ideas at this point and could desperatley use any help (midterms in 2 days and would like to use internet to study)

Have you tried resetting the router?

In the past we have, part of the problem is im subletting and dont have access to the router itself, nor do i have admin rights to check the settings. however this has been a recurring problem and we have already replaced the router prior to this.

How far away are you from the router?

Silly question: Do your devices connect to other networks (Starbucks, School)

try setting obtain IP address and DNS automatically on the general tab of the adapter IPv4 properties
and hardcode values on the Alternative Configuration tab.

most routers are a 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 address

Hardcoded examples 42 can be any number that is not assigned to another device, (Google DNS addrs)

    IP address: 192.168.1.42
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

    DNS: 8.8.8.8
    DNS Alt: 8.8.4.4

Disable the adapter and then enable it.
