    Sharing a printer

I have 3 pC's, all with Win7. I can't share the printer installed in one of them. The other two see it, but appears the message "...Windows can't find driver". What driver for god sake?

    .Windows can't find driver
Hi if you are wishing to share a printer you also have to install the printer drivers on all computers wishing use the printer.

Please use the printer driver cd to install the drivers on all computers wishing to use the printer.

when you run the driver program do you select NETWORKED Printer? Or are you selecting Local Printer. Network is what you want.

Turn off the Windows Firewall while you are trying to set up the printer on the other PCs.

The easiest way I've found to add a printer to the networked PC's is to use "device and printers" tab from start orb. Once the devices and printers tab is open, click "add printer", then select "add netwrok, wireless, or bluetooth printer" , then from the list being populated find and select your printer from the network and then click next. It will just install the driver, which is all you need to print from the network. And your done.

If nothing else works, what HAS worked for me in the past is to install the printer to EACH PC, one at a time, connected to the USB port. What this does, is copy proper drivers to that PC.

Then when you go to Reinstall the printer as a networked device, since each PC already has the drivers installed, if it works for you like it did for me, it won't even prompt you for the drivers; instead, it will just reuse them.

This is a setback! With the "old" XP was very easy to share everything! I couldn't imagine that Seven was capable of such "dirty" thing!

Not sure if this is an issues since you didn't specify 32 bit or 64 bit, but you dobjave to have the right one for the OS. Are all the machines the same? If not you need to specify to add the other drivers to it.

Here is how I acchievided: I installed printer driver at the remote PC due to the ability to install without a printer attached! (this is VERY important). Once done, I just went to "Add a new printer", made a search, etc. A happy end after all:)
