Did you check in Device Manager to see if you are missing any drivers? Sounds like your networking drivers did NOT get installed -- which puts you in a difficult spot because, without them, you are not going to be able to connect to the Internet to DOWNLOAD drivers!
Is there a CD that came with the PC that you can use to install the missing drivers?
