Bluetooth device not in device manager, no hardware switch, Acer netbk

Model is Acer Aspire One D270.
    Internal bluetooth doesn't work.
    Nothing in device manager.
Fn+F3 is meant to control it, but doesn't.
May be because I've messed with some programs.
Trying to re-install to factory settings.
    Any suggestions at all?

    thanks
    D:

edit: The machine is Win7 baby (starter?), x86_32.

What programs did you remove or mess with? Have you tried repairing these programs?

    Download

Think may have found the correct Bluetooth Drivers, do you know which driver is missing from Device Manager?

    Please post a screenshot of your Device Manager (maximised window);

I've re-installed the drivers, but still nothing shows up in the device manager.
I tried installing the Atheros (sp) one and the Launch Manager.
I'm doing a factory reset now, but may take a while!

thanks for the help so far though.

Still running, but I fear it's hanged.
It's still incrementing the timer, but it's been stuck on 4% for a while.
All it claims to be doing is backup up my files. It has about 30Gb to copy. Should not take this long...

Give it time, 30GB is quite a large amount to backup, and it is also dependent upon your hardware; close any other running programs and just let it do it's job.

Okay, I did a full re-install of the disk image.
All data is gone, back to original settings with everything, but still no bluetooth anywhere D:

Acer D270 definitely has bluetooth hardware. At least, according to reviews.

Download the hardware vendor detection utility from this page to detect IF and which Bluetooth hardware is installed.

Oh, that's strange. No bluetooth in that list.
However, it also says "If you cannot find a bluetooth... device... please turn on these devices".

Perhaps I don't have internal bluetooth. I was really under the impression that I did have though.

The online specifications say this model does have bluetooth, although the page has a footnote that says
    1. Specifications vary depending on model.

Perhaps I do not have bluetooth in this machine after all. How disappointing...
