No Wireless Internet Access

Hi, I recently got a new computer for my wife, and everything was working fine, until last Friday when the internet stopped working. She says it was working fine during the morning, then she left for a while, and when she came back later it had stopped working.

The computer can detect the wireless networks, but connects to them with limited access, and no internet access. I have checked the passwords multiple times, and everything appears to be fine. We only have the one home network, and all other computers/game systems/devices appear to be working fine.

I have tried every solution I can find on the internet. My wife can't remember doing anything out the ordinary, except perhaps clicking a button in Norton by accident. Her only antivirus is Norton, which I tried uninstalling and using the Norton Removal Tool, but this did nothing. I tried removing Firewall Settings, but that did not fix it either.

This is a brand new HP AMD computer with 10Gb of ram. The only recent change was Norton expiring, but it was renewed a week or two prior to any issues starting. I even tried a System Restore back 3-4 weeks ago to correct settings, but this did not work. See ipconfig for details.

Edit: Running Windows 7 operating system on that computer.

Welcome to Seven Forums,

What's happens if you boot to Safe Mode with Networking (restart the computer then tap F8 and select this option?

Also have you tried to assign the IP manually?

I tried Safe Mode with Networking, with the same result. I also tried assigning a manual IP, but it still says limited connectivity.

Edit: Found out we had Windows Defender on there as well. Disabled that, but still didn't fix it.

Have you tried running the Network Troubleshooter tool from your Windows 7 computer.
Using the Network troubleshooter in Windows 7

Is your Broadcom driver up to date?

It won't hurt and might be a good idea to run Virus/Malware scan. I use SuperAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes Free and eset online scanner.

Never mind, it appears to be fixed. I did a virus scan, which did nothing, but when I ran the Network Troubleshooter again, it gave us a new error:

"Your broadband modem is experiencing connectivity issues." This is a new one. It said to uplug, wait 10 seconds, etc. I restarted it, and now its fine. Not sure why that was the issue. The router and modem are all working fine. I've been using it to access the internet on this computer all along, but for some reason it fixed the other computer's issue.

Anyway, thanks for your help.
