Windows 7: how do i connect my windows 7 laptop wirelessly to my server

how do i connect my windows 7 laptop wirelessly to my server

i have a windows 7 laptop and all of my computers at home are connected to my dell server which is running windows server 2008 r2 threw wires that go to my router, now i want to add my labtop to my server connecting the labtop wireless to my wireless router and from there adding it to my server. For some reason my labtop do-sent connect to my server and i cannot figure out why , can someone help me figure this out?

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Are you able to access the internet on a wireless connection? Can you ping the Server's IP address?
Do you need to access your Server's files?
