Windows 7: Manage Wireless Networks

Manage Wireless Networks

When I go to MWN from control panel, I see 6 entries. But if I go to my registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Wpad

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles

or a couple other places, I see up to 27 wireless configurations - every place that I have ever been, whether I have deleted the profiles or not.

Many of the 21 "hidden" profiles are duplicates (as in, I go to airports in several cities and get "united club, united_club 2, etc").

Is this some plot by MS and Homeland Security to follow me around?

How can I delete the profiles that I dont want from my registry? This has caused me some trouble at some hotels, since my computer can see multiple access points with the same SSID, and then sometimes it wont let me have access.
