Replaced shared drive, no longer accessible

I have a drive in my wife's computer that we store all of our digital pictures on. The drive root was shared on the network and working fine. The drive started making noises and it ended up failing a S.M.A.R.T. test so I bought a new one to replace it. I got all of the files copied over, but now it is no longer accessible over the network when I turned sharing back on. I've verified the shared permissions are set to "Everyone" with R/W access.

When I try to access it on my computer I get told that "Windows cannot access //comp-name/share" "you do not have permission to access //comp-name/share. Contact your network administrator to request access"

I've been scouring google but I cannot find anything to help me resolve this. I'm considering changing the drive letter to see if that makes any difference or not. I have to admit I've stumped myself here.

So I got this figured out. I updated the root drive permissions and now the share is accessible to everyone again.
