Need Help Removing a Wireless Name

    Hey guys .

I have two wireless networks . One with Mike and one with MIKE . I don't remember the password for MIKE. Issue is I don't see MIKE in the Manage Wireless section all I see is Mike but when I go to the systray and want to connect to a wireless network MIKE and Mike are there. Is there a way to remove MIKE from the connect to in systray ?

Not really. That List you are looking at is Just a List of Available wireless networks. If you were in a area with many WiFi access points/router all of them would show up. Right now I have 10 names showing up in that list. That's because in range of my WiFi card in my notebook there are 10 WiFi signals. There are only 2 I connect to, both are for my place of work.

Does your router have a Guest WiFi feature? If it does it may be that.

Otherwise Disconnect From Mike, go into manage wireless networks and delete Mike then reboot. Once the system boot up reconnect to Mike.

Edwar.... No Guest WIFI feature is enabled. I deleted all of the networks that were listed in the Manage Wireless Networks . Restarted the PC . Then I opened up the wireless network and both Names are still there. I would like to remove the wireless network name MIKE from showing up there. Its not listed in Manage Wireless Networks list . It only has Mike like I stated before.

Turn off your router. If the name still shows up then someone else is using that name in CAPS.

The only things that show in that list are AVAILABLE WiFi SSID names. If that name is not available it will NOT show up in that list. Whether you have ever connected to it or not.
