Windows 7 WiFi Problem

I'm having an issue that has my work's IT department stumped. Figured I'd give this forum a try to see if anyone else has seen the same problem. Here's my situation:

- I have a work issued Lenovo laptop that historically never had any problem connecting to my home wireless network (Netgear cable modem).
- My work recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7 and when I brought it home, it says that I'm connected to the internet, but the only pages that will load are google and gmail (I can send/receive emails, make google searches, etc.). My work email through Outlook also works fine. All other internet pages won't load.
- My work computer connects fine to all other wireless networks
- All my other devices connect fine to my home network (phone, iPad, etc.).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at a loss here.

Temporarily disable Anti-virus and firewall, see if it works then.

Try a different browser, Firefox or Google Chrome.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to disable the anti-virus and firewall. Is it possible that my work set it up so these features are always engaged?

This Google site's only problem keeps popping up lately and about the only thing I can find on it is that the modem being used needs to be replaced with a newer one.

Try booting to Safe Mode with Networking, see if you can connect to all sites then. If yes then something is starting when you boot that is causing the problem and we can work on that.

I booted in safe mode and it still doesn't work. Will probably just buy a new modem to see if that solves it.

Check for a firmware upgrade for the Netgear Cable Modem first.

Finally got it fixed through Time Warner Cable's support team (they are leasing me the modem). Went in to the Netgear settings by connecting through an ethernet cable and typing 192.168.0.1 in to my browser. Switched from WPA to WEP encryption and that did the trick.

Appreciate everyone's suggestions. Happy to have working internet.

I made a suggestion to change the wireless security 3 weeks ago for someone else having the same problem but in his case the drivers were up to date. It was in another thread on this same page for the exact same problem.
Can only access Google / Yahoo websites

I'd say that if changing to WEP fixed the problem then the real problem was that the wireless drivers or the modem being used is WAY out of date, because WEP is a very outdated security standard and is easily hacked.
