Hello!
So, my wireless adapter in my Gateway E 475M G is not working. It is not displayed in an ipconfig /all, and it is not displayed in the Device Manager.
I am fairly certain why this is happening. My Asus U31 running Windows 7 x64 crashed (broken DC power jack), and I needed a quick fix, so I borrowed a Gateway without an OS, and installed in it my Asus' HDD.
Now, the Gateway is running Windows 7 x64. However, I am unable to find wireless adapter drivers suitable for Windows 7. Since I am unable to see exactly what adapter the model Gateway I use has, I can only guess that it has one of three possible adapters.
Intel® PRO/Wireless 4965 a/g/n 802.11a/b/g/n mini-card
Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945 a/b/g 802.11a/b/g mini-card
Broadcom 802.11 a/b/g mini-card
However, these adapters, as far as I can find, only have drivers for up to Vista.
Is there anything I can do to get wireless back up and running on this PC, or am I forever doomed to a LAN connection?
