I was using my main computer as normal until mid afternoon, at which point all of a sudden I begin having network problems. I start disconnecting from multiplayer games and web pages won't load.
Specifically, Starcraft 2 will let me log in and authenticate, but won't let me connect to games. When I visit websites, 24 times out of 25, I'll get "Content Encoding Error The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression." This happens in all browsers. Google will load (VERY SLOWLY), but if I try and open a result I either get the above error or a blank page. Every once in a while I get a garbled line of PHP type code.
For a little while, unplugging then replugging my ethernet cable would get me back internet for a few minutes. The internet icon mostly says I have internet access, but every once in a while says I dont for a minute.
I've called Verizon and had them remotely check my router as well as reset it multiple times. They say it's working perfectly, and this is supported by the fact that my other computers have no problem connecting to the internet. I tested the ethernet cable by plugging it into my laptop, it worked fine. I tested the wireless on my laptop, it also worked fine, but when I connected to the wireless on a USB adapter on my primary computer, it had the same problems as above.
When I try to use the windows 7 troubleshooter, it says that a problem is preventing it from starting, with no other details.
No windows updates were available since it last checked (yesterday) and it cant connect right now for obvious reasons.
Thanks in advance.
