I agree with that statement, wep is a "fools" security these days, its a false sense of security. But The above post stated that windows 7 didn't support WEP, which is not the case at all.
With certain *nix based software tools you can crack a wep key in under 15minutes with a decent laptop. WPA will still take a few weeks of packet capture, unless you can use a "middle-man" attack. WPA2-PSK is the way to go if at all possible. TKIP has shown some weak areas lately, nothing to be really concerned about right now, but keep that in mind.
