    Changing wireless network connection priority

    Hello ladies and gents.

I have three different wireless networks I can connect to, but the one Windows connects to first by default is not my first choice. I'd like to reorder the connection priority.

Problem is, as you can see, no networks show up in my manage networks control panel! It clear as day shows that there are five choices, but, does not list them for me to prioritize! Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing that will make the networks visible?

    Thanks as always for looking!

What happens when you click on the little arrow on the right? Does the list not expand as it should?

Nope, up or down, the arrow on the right changes nothing at all. . . a blank "list"

Which A/V software are you running on this machine?

This seems to be a fairly common problem but I can't seem to find the exact cause.

Here is another thread with some possible fixes for this problem that has worked for some people.

Getting a page not found from your link. I am using BitDefender Internet Security.

Page is loading now, will try to see if there is a driver update. Thanks for your efforts!

Not "solved" per-say, but, was able to resolve to my satisfaction at least. By deleting the contents of the Wlansvc/Profiles/interfaces folder, then rebooting, Win7 did not automatically connect to any server. I was then able to connect manually to each of the three servers I can choose from and select "connect automatically." By doing so in reverse order (my least preferred server first, then second choice, then finally first choice), it seems Win7 now connects in the order I prefer. Awkward, certainly not as straight forward as having the servers appear in the "manage" list, but hell, it got the job done.

    Thanks Chev!
