DCHP not working properly

For some reason, DHCP seems to set all incorrect settings. As a result, I don't have an internet connection with DHCP enabled. Here's my ipconfig /all:

Code:
Windows IP Configuration

   Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Daan-PC
   Primary Dns Suffix  . . . . . . . :
   Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
   IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
   WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Ethernet adapter Ethernet:

   Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
   Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet
   Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : A4-BA-DB-E5-45-AF
   DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
   Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
   Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::dd10:f989:5e13:2dd1%12(Preferred)
   Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.45.209(Tentative)
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0

   DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : fec0:0:0:ffff::1%1
                                       fec0:0:0:ffff::2%1
                                       fec0:0:0:ffff::3%1
   NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled

Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface:

   Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
   Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
   Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
   Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0
   DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
   Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
Also, when I run the network diagnostic I get the error:

"Wired ethernet connection doesn't have the valid IP configuration."

When I set the connection to static, everything is working fine...

Could this problem be solved? Thanks in advance!

Is it possible that the allocation of IP addresses by DHCP has been (or become) disabled in the router's settings?

At the moment, for some reason, the adapter is failing to get its IP address by DHCP from the router and Windows is allocating a 169.254.x.x APIPA address (Automatic Private IP Addressing), which won't let you access the router or the internet.

If this was working previously then the first thing do is to run a release and renew command from and elevated command prompt.

click start orb.
type cmd Right click on CMD Select Run as Administrator
type ipconifg /release (enter)
type ipconfig /renew (enter)

Are you sure your router has the DHCP server turned on. What it looks like is there is NO DHCP server on your LAN. That would mean either it is turned off in the router or the router is failing and needs to be replaced.

Thank you all for your responses!

I'm afraid to say (for the sake of this thread), that I decided to clean install my PC. At first, I tried many of the solutions on all the forums, like ipconfig that parman has just mentioned. Then I remembered, that some time ago I made permission changes to the registry. I used Process Monitor to check which keys read "ACCESS DENIED" when doing the "enable connection" operation and manually changed the permissions (everyone, full control) of all of those.

Even after all keys were unlocked, DHCP didn't work. My *Aaargh, the hell with it!* threshold was soon reached. Then I decided to do a clean install.

Again sorry, I hope you can understand it.. The good news is: everything is working now!
