Assign DHCP & Static IP of other subnet to the same NIC ?

    Hi you all,

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to setup the Network Internet Controller (NIC) to carry one IP that he receive from the DHCP and one Static IP of another subnet.

In Windows XP Professional this was working perfecly with an registry modification:

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces
    choose the your NIC here

    Code:

IPAddress = put you desired IP address
SubnetMask = put you Mask here
I done the same settings in Windows 7 but it does not work.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Why do you need the static IP? The LAN you are connecting to doesn't have a DHCP server enabled?

I need to have ONE DHCP IP address from the DHCP server.
But I have also the need to access another subnet and therefore I like to carry the NIC a second Static IP address.

This was working fine under WinXP but not on Win7.

So I need some anwser from an speciallist to make this happend under Win7.

The solution to do this with Windows 7 you have to use a small tool called: Win IP Config
    winipcfg / Win IP Config
