Windows 7: Windows 7 does not remember my wireless network choice or password.

I have 5 different computers running windows 7. I am having a problem with 2 of these computers. Every time I start up the computer or restart it, I have to select my connection and enter my security key. I set it up to automatically connect, but every time the computer starts or restarts, the saved wireless connection information is gone and I have to re-enter it every time. It is a pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried removing all the SSID's(wireless network names) then manually adding your own SSID with the correct network encryption?

Updating the Wi-Fi adapter to the latest might also help.

Also, are you using a wireless utility manager aside from your Windows built-in WLAN Autoconfig?

Yep, I tried removing all the networks then manually adding my own SSID with the correct network encryption. Everything is up to date, and I am using Windows Wireless Zero. Like I said, I have 5
other computers and only these 2 are having this problem. It just does not save the information on these 2, but the other 3 computers are fine.

Following the steps below will usually work.

(1) Go to Control Panel, then Network and Internet, then Network and Sharing Center.

(2) Click Manage Wireless Networks in the upper left portion of the window.

(3) If your computer is new, then just click "Add." If not, then click "Add," go through the steps below and then choose the new network as your active network.

(4) Select "Manually create a network profile."

(5) Complete the form in the next window, including your network SSID, encryption type, encryption key, etc. Select the option to conect automatically.

(6) Save. It should say "Network Successfully Added."

I have been there and I have done that, just as I have stated in my last message, and it still does not save the information when I restart.

I got mine to work using the wireless utility. On the available networks tab, I found my router, selected it, then clicked the Add to Profiles button. Then it remembered.
