    Create a homegroup hangs on desktop but works fine of laptop

    Modem = sb5100
    Wireless Router = Dlink 601

    I think the issue is the network name for some reason is NETWORK 3 on my desktop but on my laptop it's something else, my laptop can create a homegroup but my desktop cannot.

    It's weird, my desktop cannot create not join my laptop homegroup but my laptop can create it just can't join my desktop so it's a desktop issue and I think it's the multiple network names after you set up a network and it asked you if this is public or home I created like 3 of them since my wifi routers kept on going bad.

    Is the homegroup created on the desktop when your trying to create it on the laptop? If so only one homegroup can exist on a network.

    Nope, I only create one but I when I try to connect my desktop to my laptop homegroup my desktop just hangs..... I cannot create a homegroup on my desktop either, it just hangs for a long time and doesn't move forward.

    This Homegroup trouble shooting guide might help.

    Your router also needs to be able to handle the IPv6 protocol, sometimes updating the firmware on the router can help.
