Lenovo laptop REFUSES to stay connected to internet(wifi AND lan)

honestsly just a pretty basic removal, used the control panel uninstall tool and then went through system/program files and deleted those obviously associated with those programs. I did that about 9mos ago when the free trial ran out and the connectivity issues started about 2 mos ago

Possible solution

Had the exact same problem with my new HP touch sleekbook. It kept disconnecting from the network every few minutes..... I tried everything I could think of, disabled firewall, various tools, changed virus software, various settings tweaked, startup items disabled etc etc ..... NOTHING WORKED....... Then I went on to my router and changed setting from auto channel selection to "always use channel five" (random choice) MY laptop has not disconnected once since....... :) :) :) Hope this helps you too.....

I have not tried in saef mode yet, will do that now, but i did uninstall all antivirus programs that came with it and I am using windows defender for a firewall and Avira anti-virus. I also have malwarebytes installed and scan every night. I do have a proxy connection with Privoxy going through a VPN I set up using Hamachi BUT...I don't currently connect to the internet through it anymore as Hamachi changed their EULA and features included in their freeware. So, Privoxy is turned off and Hamachi just runs in the background as a direct tunnel to my desktop. BUT, that too is always turned off unless I'm out of the house with my laptop on a public network, so I don't think that has any bearing, but thought I'd mention it in case anyone knew of any weird conflicts.

Yes I've seen Hamachi cause connection problems on several occasions, the ipconfig/all would have told me you were running Hamachi.

It still does make a difference, i know its trivial but it will be forced off of the network if no reservation is made.
Also another small thing have you made sure that the NIC does not turn off to save power.
If you are still having issues with this, my best guess would be that your NIC is screwed.

There is no point in diagnosing this problem further until you completely remove Hamachi as it's by far the most likely culprit here, been there done that.

The problem is that there are about ten different versions of Hamachi floating around, some work ok, some just seem to cause connection problems.

Uninstall it and get the connection working then try a different version of Hamachi.

@Chev-Uninstalled Hamachi (sad face, I really enjoyed that program, are you able to recommend any suitable alternatives?)
@ICit_ I have reset the modem in the past, even unplugged it for 5 mins once in a moment of desperation when I considered throwing it out in the middle of the street. I did that again.(unplugged it) and...along with the aforementioned actions no significant change. It did stay connected a little longer than 30 seconds ( couple mins at a time this time) but still disconnects. I diagnose the connection n figure I may as well post the results as well as it does seem to be able at least diagnose the issue each time it disconnects this time, whereas before it was pretty random as to whether or not it would diagnose ANYTHING. It consistently says "The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken" then as status "detected" with a yellow warning sign. Below that a second problem is stated saying "The default gateway is not available" status "fixed" with a green check mark. The second I've seen fairly frequently in the past when an issue is detected, at least.

Well revisting your original post as everything else connects up and it doesn't matter if it is 7 OS or not because my XP and Vista fixes and the Ubuntu boots all hook up to the netthe fact is that Lenovo is just not going to play fair.

I can't remember asking but have you got all drivers up to date? especially the network adaptors?

If this machine is under warranty then perhaps it is worth getting something done with it.

Now having said the above about Ubuntu I think it is worth a try and for the cost of a blank DVD a boot into Ubuntu would see if you can connect to the net because I have dome this many times before when I have fixes or my own machines playing silly blighters.

So as there is nothing to lose (except your sanity)

To get Ubuntu download it from here Download Ubuntu Desktop | Ubuntu - save to D: (optical drive) then open D: and right click on the download insert a blank disk and > Burn Disk Image

Then set the machine BIOS to boot from the optical insert the disk into the optical drive and then Save and exit the BIOS the Ubuntu will boot up and give two options try or install - USE TRY when in the front screen double click the Fire fox icon on the left if it connects to the net then there is something wrong like I said with the 7 OS install.

NB The pic is one I did for someone else but will be the same that you see I'll add the next pic to let y seee what else you can do
