Hi, I need some advice on the best/most efficient way to set up network sharing across my home. Basically, the media that needs to be shared includes Music and movies. These need to be made available to share to the following devices: two XBOX 360s, a Smart TV and multiple PCs/Laptops all running Windows 7.
The obstacle I have encountered is playing my Music on the Xbox of which 75% is from iTunes. I am able to play all my songs on the Xbox via windows media center flawlessly including all movies although other methods, such as the standard music player and windows media player doesn't seem to work as well.
Currently, just to work things out, i have music that is in my iTunes library and also included in my Windows Media Center library which works well and stream to the Xbox. This is however stored on the laptop's drive and I cannot leave the laptop on 24/7. Therefore I need to know what hardware would to this job best? My thoughts were along the lines of either a NAS drive, Home Server PC or a simple USB HDD plugged into the USB port on my router.
Any advice on the way i should set this up and what hardware I should use would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance!
