    Folder Permissions - Access Denied Error


    I cannot access a group of folders under My Documents that belonged to an ex-employee. I have admin rights and was able to grant permissions for the folder hierchay..starting with a folder called Nancy..the I was able to gain acess to My Docs folder..but any folder under mydocs is not allowing me access or the right to change the permissions. i have admin rights...any siggestions?

    You need to take ownership of the file. If you actually have admin right your will be able to do this. Once you have ownership you can change the permissions.

    Yeah I figured that out a little later but still had to go to each folder and do that....tedious! Thanks Sir for responding.

    If you go into the root folder and put a checkmark in Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object it will replace the permissions for all sub folders.
