Check Task Manager > Services tab, please find out if the Bonjour service is running?

That fricking shitty Bonjour! It is the most badly designed, unnecessary Apple joke intended to destroy a PC user's mental health!

    Try this:
    • Task Manager > Services, right click Bonjour, select Stop in context menu
    • Open Control Panel > Programs and Features, uninstall Bonjour
    • Reboot
    • Come back here, find that Microsoft Fix It button in my earlier post and try it again
    • Shut down the PC
    • Reboot your router
    • Boot the PC

It might be that we need to uninstall Bonjour to fix this, so let's try. You do not need it, it's just what I said here above. I have some bad experience uninstalling it without first stopping the service, that's why I ask you first to do that.

Kari, Why wont disabling it work for a test? Is the Bonjour service so bad that it doesn't help to disable it?

    Not questioning you just curious.

Bonjour is like the mother-in-law who came for a two-day visit and then just stayed, never leaving. It is really not needed, and I bet 50 bucks it is the culprit here.

    Send mother-in-law away, uninstall Bonjour!

    OK.

Can you connect to Internet with your laptop, using the wired Ethernet connection?
