Windows 7: Can't connect two lan cards on the same router

Can't connect two lan cards on the same router

I have a D-LiNK router

I want to connect two pcs to it through LAN

when I do .. one of them connects to the internet and the other not

i tried to set the ip to obtained manually



i gave one 192.168.1.100 and the other 192.168.1.10

and I gave the primary DNS to preferred DNS server
and the secondary DNS to alternative DNS server

and it didn't work too

can some on help me please

Windows 7 Ultimate x64, BackTrack Linux 5 R2, Windows XP
 
 

1. Why not have the PC's automatically retrieve IP settings via DHCP?
2. Make sure that your router's IP address isn't one of the ones you listed above.
3. What addresses are you using for DNS?

Have you tried swapping ports on the router and ethernet cables just to make sure thats out the way when going down the troubleshooting list?
