Why all computers not on network?

I just started my new computer, HP h9-1180. I also have my old computer, HP s5310f, as well as a laptop (all running Win 7 and IE9) and wireless printer.
I have a wireless network which was set-up by my ISP using UBEE router. Everything works fine on my network. I'm able access the internet with all computers as well as my printer.
I'm trying to set-up a homegroup and have searched far and wide on how to's as well as video tutorials from MS. I have followed the instructions to a "T".
I created a homegroup with my new computer and allowed access to all items (documents, photos, videos, etc). I also have enabled all items under Advanced Sharing options on both computers.
Here's my problem. On my old computer, when I go to Computer and Homegroup, my new computer is there and I can access the Libararies but nothing else.
On my new computer, when I go to Computer, Homegroup, it tells me there are no other computers (see two atchs).
Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong. I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable in these things, but I'm at a loss on this one as I've been trying for two days to figure it out.
Hopefully, someone can "bruise my ego" and tell me what I need to do.
    Thanks for any responses.
    Jack

    Hi there,

Have you verified that Network Discovery is turned on?
    Enable or disable network discovery

I'd check for a 3rd party firewall software installed if you have any. If you are using built-in Windows firewall make sure that Files/printer sharing is allowed.

It won't hurt to verify your current setup, please see this Tutorial.

I just want to inform you.

I created a homegroup with my new computer and allowed access to all items (documents, photos, videos, etc).
I also have enabled all items under Advanced Sharing options on both computers.
Both of those are two different sharing methods. Each will have to be setup correctly in order for everything to work.

Thanks for the info. I've taken both computers out of the Homegroup and guess I'll go back to the "drawing board". I didn't realize it would be so complicated, or that I wasn't able to follow instructions. Too bad there isn't a wizard for people like me. There goes my ego.

Sometimes when trying to set up a Homegroup you may encounter problems with wireless machines not being seen when you set up a new Homegroup.

In these cases you might want to try joining the Homegroup using an Ethernet connection, then after you join the Homegroup you can go back to using a wireless connection.

The guide in the link shows how to fix other Homegroup problems.

Thanks for the info. Right now, I'm not going to do anything as I'm getting ready to return my new computer and will not be setting-up a homegroup until I get another one. I am really dissatisfied with the new computer. It has an Intel i7 processor with quad-core and the performance is no better than my 4-year old dual-core with AMD processor.
When I get my other new computer, I will return to this forum and check-out all the info/links provided.
Thanks for your time and assistance
