I am probably making a mistake when I suggest that people find their router's IP address via IPCONFIG. It appears that you are pinging your own computer's IP address. It also helps to know the router's IP address in order to change the WAP channel.

Please visit this post and attach the text file to your next post.

Okay, let me try that next week. Sorry, my girlfriend is using the laptop and she doesn't really like to troubleshoot this stuff. What do I type for "%UserProfile%"? I tried typing in (Batman is my username), "%Batman%\Desktop", "Batman\Desktop", "Users\Batman\Desktop". What am I doing wrong lol?

Hi Darknight

When you type in this " ipconfig/all > %UserProfile%\Desktop\IP.txt " the computer will automatically put the text file under this folder C:\Users\Batman\Desktop .

Note   Note
%UserProfile% is your Users\Batman folder . If you type %UserProfile% into the Search box in the Start Menu you will see that Batman folder comes up

Usually, but not always :-)

Ah, thank you for that! I will try this next week when I have access to her computer. Thanks for bearing with me and helping me out.

So I should look for the IPv4 Address next?

Is this an issue with the wireless card? I don't really want to waste either of your time with trying to troubleshoot this issue if the wireless itself is faulty.

The wifi should get its own IP address .

Once you get access to the laptop, then create that "IP.TXT" text file via those steps and upload it to the forum in your next post. We will look at it and suggest the next steps. You should not need to look for the router's IP address - we will look for you.

We cannot tell if it is a problem with the Wireless Network Adapter yet or just the drivers or something else.

I haven't had time to create that file, but I will try to persuade my girlfriend to create it and send it to me. Sorry for the delay and thank you for your continued support!

Not a problem - just for my own notes:
Once we see the text file with the IPCONFIG info...
...we will help you connect to your router to change the channel to 3
(we can also look to see if there is an excess of 6to4 adapters)

You can expect a problem (delay) if the owner of the router does not know the password for the router's web based interface. If this is not known, then let us know the brand and model of the router (wireless access point).
