| | How do I join a samba domain with windows 7? Hello, I am trying to join our samba domain at home, and it just keeps saying unable to join x domain. The specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted. Any help? |

| | You join it like any other Windows domain. The samba host is pretending to be an AD domain controller (AD). Hence, it needs to expose the same DC-related DNS (SRV) records, the same sysvol share, policies... |

| | The samba host is pretending to be a domain controller. Windows xp and windows vista can join the domain just fine, its just windows 7 that doesn't want to join. |
