Connect to another PC in my house

I have a wireless router at my PC. I have a wireless adapter connected to the PC with my backup drives. I normally Map the backup drive and then use FreeFileSync to mirror my drives to the drives in the backup PC. Nothing has changed at the "backup" end. At the main PC end I upgraded to 64-bit, so need to setup again.

Using the default IPs allocated by the router. I can ping the backup PC. I cannot see it under Network nor Map it.

In Netwrok & Sharing -> Local Area Connection -> Details it shows the correct IP and Gateway addresses.
I am at my wits end trying to set it up this end.

It sounds like you aren't using the same WORKGROUP name for all of your networked PC's, this will prevent them from seeing each other.

Workgroup Name - View and Change

You should also make sure that the C:>Users folder, of your networked machines is shared through the sharing tab as well.

The workgroup names are the same.

Public folders on main PC are shared because I use the same router to connect to my TV for viewing videos.

Network and Sharing Center:
Local Area Connection
Home Network
Advanced sharing settings for Home or Work:
Network discovery on
File and printer sharing off
Public folder sharing on
Media streaming on
128-bit encryption
Password protection off
Windows doing management

Windows Network Diagnostics says: "The device or resource (pupserver) is not set up to accept connections on port "The File and printer sharing (SMB)".

The main PC can ping the remote PC (192.168.2.103).
The remote PC can ping the router(192.168.2.1) but not the main PC(192.168.2.100)

The backup PC is Linux.
It is setup that all three HDDs are shared.
So I need it to show up in Network, so I can map it.
File and Printer sharing was on at one stage.
No difference.
The remote PC can't ping the main PC, just the router.

Is there a third party anti virus software or firewall installed on the machine that won't show up?

If the workgroup name is the same you should have no problems seeing that PC on the network as long as network discovery, file and printer sharing etc. is enabled.

If you can post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all from two of these networked machines it would be helpful.

What is the PPP adaptor for? It appears to have it's own IP address and subnet mask and a default gateway with no value, it's also not in the same subnet as your router is using.

There is also a secondary Ethernet connection which appears to be plugged in but isn't getting anything from the router. This is a very strange network configuration to say the least and I'm not surprised that you are having problems.
