Offline folders to multiple network mapping drive folders

    Hi,

    Newbe with a question.

I am assuming it is possible to enable offline files of multiple network folders but I can't get it to work.

    Situation:
    Running Win7 ultimate 32bit on a domain.
    Server with 2 folder shares:
    Share1: test1
    Share1: test2

Mapped to a network drive (Share1) and was able to enable offline files.
I then mapped to (Share2) on the same server and the option Always available offline is clickable. Unfortuntely it does not do anything.

Is it just not possible to create multiple offline available folders using different mapped network drive folders from one server?

    Cheers

This TechNet thread talks about the problem and shows some solutions that have worked for others. :)

"Always available offline" option and Offline Files tab dissapeared in folder options

This link shows how to set up offline files to work with Windows servers.

The always available offline option is there. But it does not do anything and that is my problem.

Share1 is containing "My documents" and I was able to make that available offline. The Share2 is containing "Download". When mapped to the second share using the same username/password used to connect to Share1 I have the availability to enable offline files, but as said... that is not doing anything.

The second link is not really telling me what I might be doing wrong. Sorry

The second link explains the entire process of using offline files while on a Domain, it is however very long but it does explain the process more precisely towards the bottom of the page.

You might also be under some restrictions due to the Group Policy Settings of the Domain.

Ok, I will have to make some time to read the second link thoroughly. Hopefully I can figure it out.

I will also ask my IT department if there are policy restrictions created for offline folders.
