    Lets try this driver

    Download

Right-click once you're done downloading it and choose Extract all… then change the Downlaods to Desktop inside the Extract All window and click Next . Double click the .exe file inside the extracted folder .

Question : Did this laptop come with Windows 8 pre-installed ?

A little more info (which may or may not be relevant):

When I go into DeviceManager and click Network adapters, it shows:
    Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
    Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)

Under Other devices, when I select Network Controller, it shows (under General): "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"

Is this "Network Controller" under Other devices related to WiFi operations?

    LAN driver:
Downloaded, installed, rebooted -- no success.

When I try to: Connect to a network

I am advised: Not connected. No connections are available.

If I click: See full map

Network map of: Local Area Connection ==> The adapter is not connected.

The LAN driver is for Ethernet .

What happens when you press FN+F12 button ? You should see something that says wireless is on and if you press the keys again it should say wireless is off .

Sorry, I just noticed that I missed your Post #11 (looks like I was typing a message when you posted it).

I suspect that was the WiFi driver, so I will do it now.

To answer your question, my laptop came with Windows 7 pre-installed.
