VPN host sluggish internet connection, but network is fine

After trying to find this out on myself for days I decided to join this forum and ask ahead.

I am trying to get VPN to work on a little PC I build that acts as a server, the only problem is when I activate Window's incoming connection, the internet speed on the server machine drops to 2mbps network speed is fine (rendering it unusuable as server) (I am on an 120mbit adsl connection with 10mbit upload)

When I connect to the vpn remotely with say my phone it works splenditly (When downloading it maxes out my 3.6mbps 3g)

However, the speed on the server itself is too slow rendering it unusable for say web hosting. (Even if I am not connected via VPN)

Disabling the incoming connection thingy in adapter settings works, but then I can't connect to the VPN anymore...

Im also running VMWare with ubuntu.

If you need to know any additional information, feel free.
