Lan, WIfi, VPN and VM
Hi All,
A bit of a complicated one here but I have the below situation;
I have been given a work router that I connect to my own router. I then connect this to my machine via a ethernet cable and it creates a VPN so I can RDP/RDS/MSTSC into work. This however stops my local internet working on my machine (as expected).
However my personal router has Wifi so I can connect my machine up via Wifi and wired. What I would like to do is have my machine set so that I can use the wifi for internet and the wired for VPN. Is there any way to do this without changing the settings on the work router (I am not allowed to change it)? I guess there is not because the whole point of a VPN is to keep the machine secure.
If not then I was wondering if there was a way I could crate a VM that pulls through the wired network (work) while disabling it on the physical machine. This would then mean I can have the Wifi on my physical machine and then the wired on my VM which can use to RDP into work.
I am running Windows 7 pro 64 bit and am on Virgin Media with a new super hub.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gary
