connecting 2 laptops for file sharing

    Hi,

I have a hp TX 1218 laptop, whose display hot crashed.since I am planning to buy a new one since its pretty old and had the same kind of issues around 3 times in last 2 years.
Actually speaking if I turn the power on, processor and everything is running but the display is blank.
My question is ... I need to take back up of the files there in my hard disk. I also have another lap to which I need to take the backup. How to connect the 2 laptops ,with one machine's display is out.
    please help. Thanks in advance
    Sasi

    You have several options

    1. take the disk out and attach it in a USB caddy to a working system

    2. Use a live CDor USB stick and transfer the files to an external disk or stick - here is one of many options

Right, option 2 is no good in this case. Use option 1.

Or, how about attaching another screen - e.g. a TV.
