Sharing WAN PPPOE internet connection with Wireless LAN
Hi guys, I am new to the forum. Well I have looked up answers to many problems on here before but never posted. This is the first time I was unable to find the answer to a problem on these forums.
My problem is:
I have an iBurst Modem which is used to connect to a wireless ISP. Normally I would connect this via a network cable directly to my built in PC LAN card. I am then able to connect to the internet by connecting using WAN miniport PPPOE by entering my username and password.
My problem is I have a N300 DGN2200 Netgear router which does not have a WAN port only 4 LAN ports and a telephone type connection for an ADSL input. The routers sold in South Africa do not have WAN ports on them standard.
If I connect the router directly to my PC and connect the Modem to the router LAN obviously it does not work as the ISP requires the connection to be through a WAN miniport PPOE type connection.
My MOBO has two LAN cards, so I thought I could connect the Netgear router to the second LAN port on my MOBO and then 'share' the WAN miniport with the LAN wireless connection so that I can broadcast the internet connection throughout the house.
Is there ANY way to share a WAN Miniport PPOE internet connection to another LAN and broadcast it wirelessly?
Please let me know if you need more information.
