HP Pav dv5 1002nr wireless issue

Hey there.. iīve been beating my head against the wall for 5 days now, and canīt seem to find the solution for this issue..nothing realy worked so far.
Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv5 1002nr
wireless adapter: Atheros Wireless LAN Driver Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n
Problem: Installed win 7 64bits, and wireless is nor functioning, LED is orange too. when I hardwire I can conect to the net though.
Already tried to install all drivers for vista 64 ultimate from HP web, and still no response from the adapter. On device manager it sais its working properly (BS!!!).
Can this be a config problem? or should I try other drivers?
    Any sugestions is greatly apreciated...
    Thanks

Make sure you have the newest BIOS loaded then removed the wireless card in device manager and then reboot let windows install the driver it wants connect the wired lan do a windows update and then reboot again removed the wired lan and test to see if you can connect to a wireless network.

Hello, Madogmark and welcome to the SevenForums.

In Pavilion series laptops, the orange indication light means wireless and optional bluetooth are not enabled. The light is blue when it is enabled.

Don't misunderstand me now, if this sounds too simple: have you accidentally disabled WiFi / Bluetooth? If so, just press the WiFi button (the one that is now orange) to enable it. The light should turn blue if it's OK and working.

thanks for your sugestion Kari. Iīve tried that... during win startup the orenge LED blinks blue once and turns back to orange, as if it was checking the hardware..
but after win7 completes its startup, there seems no way it turns back to blue, even touching the sensor... even tho every other touch sensor is working (quick play, mute, volume, etc.. ) only the wireless seems to stay off... im still trying to download the BIOS as DarkXeno sugested.... but with no sucess from HP website...
If it comes to work I will post as a sucess... again, thank you for your sugestion.

I can confirm that a BIOS upgrade remedied the exact same issue issue with the 32-bit version on HP dv5-1002nr
