Phone is detected ind installed as modem, I have the details:

    number - *99#
    username - giffgaff

    where to put it?

I did it years ago on xp and I know it's possible to configure it WITHOUT installing any software (nokia pc suite etc)

Hi Mt12345, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Connect the modem (mobile phone). Open Network and Sharing Center, click Set up a new connection or network, select Set up a dial-up connection, click Next and follow instructions on screen.

You shouldn't need the access point name, just the number and credentials. The name is not used when connection is made and can be anything you want to.

Simply connect and open a browser to test connection.

yes I did test it before - no connection. that's why I'm posting here

APN is important! For example '3' network in UK has 2 APN's - one for mobile phones, the other for mobile broadband (usb 'dongle').
If you put wrong APN you may be surprised when you see the bill at the end of month.

Anyway I will test it tomorrow as the problem is with my friend's computer.
    Thanks! MarTin

Using my service provider (and other providers here), the access points are defined on phone, dialing *99# then uses the default AP to make the connection. Anyway, good if you got it working as you wanted to.
