if I enter (mysite.com or www.mysite.com, it wont load the site)

all other sites work fine if I just enter the url. whats going on and how do I fix it? also happens with IE 10.

    Maybe the website is down.

Maybe you have a HOSTS file entry that prevents visiting that website.

hmm, I may know what it is. I seem to recall this site (that I work on for a friend), the firewall on the server end blocked my IP a few times before when I had some failed login attempts.

so I'm thinking that may be the case again. have to check on that too I guess.

emailed the host. their firewall blocked the IP as I suspected. lol.

    Glad you got it sorted.

Unless your mac was using a different ISP (e.g. a cellular connection), then the mac should have been prevented from getting to the website as well. The server should only see one internet facing IP for your home. That one IP is what should have been blocked.
