Help! Unidentified Network Internet Access Problem

've spent hours during the last two days reading all sorts of threads trying to fix this problem without any success. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has had some luck with this.

I'm trying to access internet through a public wifi network on my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad), but I get the "Unidentified Network. No Internet access".

My apartment mate has a Mac and has no problem with the exact same network.
Operating System: Windows 7 (64 bit)

IPv4 Connectivity: No Internet access
IPv6 Connectivity: No network access

ipconfig/all

Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2:
Media State: Media disconnected
Connection-specific DNS Suffix:
Description: Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
Physical Address: 00-26-5E-EE-59-7C
DHCP Enabled: YES
Autoconfiguration Enabled: YES

DNS Servers:
fec0:0:0:ffff::1%1
fec0:0:0:ffff::2%1
fec0:0:0:ffff::3%1
NetBIOSover Tcpip: Enabled

When I try ipconfig/renew, I get a message saying that no operation can be performed on Wireless Network connection 2 while it has its media disconnected.

I use McAfee security software.

Thank you!

Daria

That might be your issue . McAfee Security

Uninstall the mcafee security

Use Control Panel's Programs and Features

Click on button type Programs and features inside the Search programs and files press the <ENTER> key when you see Programs and features under Programs (1)

After you uninstalled McAfee use MCPR.exe

Download link MCPR.exe

right-click MCPR.exe, and select Run as administrator

When you see the User Account Control dialog box, click Yes.

At the McAfee Software Removal screen, click Next.

At the End User License Agreement (EULA) dialog box, click Next to accept the agreement

Thanks for the tip, Vista King.

Isn't the point of McAfee to protect my laptop? So you are suggesting uninstalling it and then using this network (which is my network at home) without any protection?

I was thinking that it might be a problem with my adapter driver...

Run the Delete

Close all open programs.

To run the program, right-click AdwCleaner.exe and select Run as administrator

Click on Delete and confirm the prompt.

After it finishes, the computer is restarted.

Upload the log saved at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt

Try to connect to the network wanted to before .

If you're using Babylon Dictionary the above steps will remove that software

Ok. Here is the file.

I still can't access internet, although the network shows "connected", as before.

I noted one difference. Before the activity in my wireless network connection status showed 104 bytes sent, 0 received. Now it's 104 bytes sent, 42 received. Can't can get through internet though.

Have you tried disabling the firewall in there ?

I wouldn't recommend running McAfee as an antivirus
