How to Change Your Win 7 Wireless Adapter MAC address

There are programs to accomplish this, but here is the roll-your-own method of changing the Media Access Control (MAC) address of your wireless adapter.

    CHANGE YOUR WIRELESS MAC ADDRESS

The possible MAC addresses in Windows 7 for wireless adapters:

    • X2-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
    • X6-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
    • XA-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
    • XE-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX

    WIN | cmd.exe | enter |
    Ipconfig /all > ipinfo.txt

IpInfo.TXT has your original IP address.

    WIN | DevMgmt.MSC | ENTER | dbl-clk on Network Adapters |
rt-clk on your ...Wireless Network Adapter | Properties |
Advanced tab | select Network Address (in Property area) |
Value radio button | enter desired MAC address | OK

    Examples of MAC addresses:
    023344556677
    16A098765432
    3Affeeddbbcc
    4E44667799aa

WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.
