making the public folder accessible to all users

I have an interesting situation where when I load files from my sign on to the public pictures folder my wife can't always view them from her's. We are both admin and I am forced to right click and do the advanced settings routine to each file and add her to it with full control. As I'm sure you can see this is very annoying.

Thanks for any help in this matter

Are you sharing across a network or is it to share the public folder locally?

By default the public folder should be accessible to everyone with full permissions - C:\Users\Public

Permissions - Allow or Deny Users and Groups

There should be no reason to do this for each file and in general you want to stay away from the Security tab because in this case there is no reason to mess with the Security settings.

You should have no problems sharing from the Sharing tab with the Public folder. Most likely you don't have the main Public folder shared out correctly, this main Public folder is the one that controls access to all the other Public folders like Public Music, Public Video's etc.

You should go to C:>Users>Public then make adjustments as the picture below shows. Click on the Sharing tab, then the Advanced Sharing tab, then the Permissions button then add the check marks etc. and apply settings.
