internet connection has limited or no connectivity

i fiddled with some settings and it just spontaniously started working! by the way this may be a little off topic, but my friend is also getting blue screens, he also has avast, how did that error report tool show what caused the BSOD? i would be very grateful to be able to help my friend thanks everyone, this is a solved issue now :)
