Freshly installed Win 7, cannot receive WiFi.

    I bought a new laptop, a Toshiba Satellite C855 1CW. I installed Win7 Ultimate x64.
I can connect to the internet through an Ethernet cable, but cannot receive any WiFi signals.
When I go to "Manage wireless networks" it says that Wireless is not currently enabled, how do I enable it?

    Thank you.

You probably need to turn it on using one of the touchkeys above the keyboard? Usually it lights up when it is turned on......check that in the manual.

Did you install the laptop specific drivers, after installing Ultimate? That might also be the problem.

Hi there ... Golden is right the Functions keys usually turn it on ... Try Fn and F8 ..... If the Icon is showing in the task bar... Right click Bluetooth Icon in the task bar In the Bluetooth Settings dialog box, click the Options tab and do the following:... To make your computer discoverable to Bluetooth devices, select the check box for Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer.

I checked and Network Adapter drivers are missing. Where can I get the particular drivers for my PC? No CD came with the computer.

How do I know exactly which drivers I'm supposed to download? There's the same drivers from Intel, Atheos, and Realtek for example.

Using a wired connection simply go to the Windows Update Center and download what they have for your machine. Windows update can be accessed from the start menu.

I did that and it updated 14 new things, but it still won't allow wireless.
