Missing files/folders on NAS attached exHDD.
As the title says, I am unable to view several folders stored on NAS attached HDD's ( usb1, usb2) from my Win 7 Ultimate , Samsung S3511 laptop.
This problem has been going on for a while and seems very random. Immediately after boot I can see everything that is there, then a while later it loses sight of some of them and even files within the remaining folders are not there.
For example, on usb2 I have Movies & Music, (and also some movie files that are refusing to move into Movies, just hangs on Discovering Items forever, not sure if that could be linked?)
After a while I can only see Music and the extra movie files, and within music there's only around 12-18 folders where there should be hundreds. Usb1 has Tv & Movies, but I can only see Tv which has a greyed out 'X' on it.
2 other Win 7 desktops can see everything perfectly, and I can view everything through a kindle and 2 android phones so the problem is only with the lappy.
Tried a few things to fix it, been through related services which were disabled ,strangely , and that seemed to help but only for a short while after boot. Restarting the NAS does nothing to help.
I should also say that this install is a re-install so I did have problems ages ago with permissions, could this be a cause maybe? NAS is a Synology Diskstation with 2 generic HDDs.
Many thanks in advance for any help folks!
