Internet Connection Keeps Dropping..."Default Gateway not available"

I am having a internet connection issue. I have internet, but after a bit my browser, nor anything else, will connect to internet, even though it shows an active connection. If I troubleshoot or restart my pc, it fixes the issue till next time.

If you can post the ipconfig/all from this machine it would be most helpful.

The ipconfig looks normal.

Has the connection to the router or internet ever been stable on this machine?

It sometimes helps to type the gateway IP into the IPv4 properties, this is a common problem but with more than one possible solution.

The link below shows you where to type the gateway IP which in your case is 192.168.1.1

The link also has other examples on how to fix this problem going down the page.

Apparently there was no resolution response posted back in July 2013, just was marked as Closed.

The only real difference I see between Nattydread537's ipconfig and mine is I have the DHCP Enabled item in the Tunnel adapter section set as No. But then I use Wireless DSL [not the same as Wi-Fi] instead of Wired DSL, may or may not make a difference.

Default Gateway Not Available Solved

This problem drove me nuts, but finally found a solution and figured I'd post it here so if others are searching maybe they'll find the answer faster than I did.

The problem was the driver for my wireless adapter. Even though windows said it was up to date, apparently it wasn't.

What I did was open device manager, network adapters, wireless adapter to first find what my Wireless name was. I copied and pasted to google to find the latest driver I could for my wireless adapter off the web so I could download it. Then, once it was downloaded I uninstalled the wireless driver, and then I installed the new driver.

It's been 2 days now and it looks like the problem has been remedied. Hope this helps other folks who had the same problem.
